Botox

How does Boxtox (anti-wrinkle botulinum toxin injections) work?

The way Botulinum Toxin A works (Botox, Xeomin, Dysport, or Daxxify)  is by relaxing the muscle that contracts and causes that wrinkle to soften or disappear.

How will I know how much Botox to get?

This is a common question and is an important consideration before treatment to determine the overall cost of the procedure. Every client is unique and each individual facial muscle requires a differing amount of tox in order to fully relax and prevent wrinkle formation. There’s a variety of other characteristics that influence how your body reacts to Botulinum Toxin A injections such as gender, size, metabolism, and strength of your facial muscles. Despite that, there are guidelines provided to estimate how much tox each client will need for the final result they seek. Tox is measured in units and guidelines are provided for how much tox is needed per facial area.

Is there a follow-up appointment for Botox?

It’s great to follow up with your provider in 2 weeks to check in on any tweaks needed.

How does Botox feel?

Normal for your forehead to feel heavy or tight for a few weeks while the Tox settles.

How long does Botox last?

Tox usually lasts 3-5 months but will start to wear off in 8 weeks and you will start to move more and that’s ok!!! Totally normal.

Do I need other treatments other than Botox?

An aesthetic consultation will take place to address facial areas of concern. Areas are prioritized and treatment options discussed. Tox is the only treatment for dynamic wrinkles currently approved by the FDA. Treatment for static wrinkles include resurfacing procedures (e.g, VI Peel), lasers, Hydrafacials, topical products (e.g, retinoids, Medical Grade skin care), and surgical procedures.

How long does it take for Botox to be effective?

When we inject Tox (Botox, Xeomin, or Dysport) it can take anywhere from 3-14 days to “settle” in. We recommend booking your appointment 6 weeks before any major events.
